Northern State Update

We just got done with a great week of fishing on the Lower Sac. This powerhouse of a trout river continues to serve up great fishing, day in and day out. The weather has been in the 70s, making days on the water as comfortable as they come. If you have the time to sneak away for a day or two, a float on the Lower Sac is highly recommended. There are a lot of good options in the North State right now. The Upper Sac, McCloud and Pit are all in good shape and fishing well. Lower Sac Fishing Report

The tout fishing on the Lower Sac remains stellar. The pressure is getting lighter on the river and the fish are still grubbin'. We've seen big Salmonflies, little Yellow Sallies, Hydropsyche Caddis, and PMDs all coming off throughout the day in pretty good numbers. There have been boat loads of PMDs coming off the past few evenings, with a few fish starting to look up. The average size of fish on the river right now is impressive, especially up in town. There are a ton of quality fish that inhabit this big tailwater. I took a few groups out last week that hadn't fished the Sac before and they were blown away. The flows are up 7,500 cubes which is just about perfect. Flows between 7k-10k are ideal for spring...
