Fall Update

We've had a pretty stellar Fall so far here in Northern California. Some cooler, wet weather has been a nice change of pace. The Egg drop is wide open on the Lower Sac right now. The Klamath has had a good little early push of fish up eating eggs as well. Flows on the Sac are down to 5 grand.. Fish have been chewing on eggs for the past few weeks. Expect some very obese fish to be caught in November and December. I had a client put a freakishly big trout to the net last week on the Sac. 30 inches of Rainbow Trout. Dwayne has been fly fishing for over 40 years all over the world. He caught the biggest trout of his life last week on the...

Fall, Finally.

Our banner summer fishing on the Sac has transitioned pretty nicely into the Fall Egg drop. There hasn't been much of a lull in the fishing all year. The cool spell we just had was a very welcomed change of pace. The Kings are cutting redds and dropping eggs, making for some very good fishing. We can expect this to last well into November this year as the Kings started their spawn a little late this year. There are still a couple of open days on the calendar this year to get in on this bomber fishing. This is coinciding with steelhead season too. November and December are great months to be chasing these anadromous fish on the Klamath and Trinity. Check out more images from the river HERE ...

Fishin' on the Sac is pretty damn good right now. The Kings seem to be stalling their spawn a wee bit still, waiting for cooler water. That hasn't stopped the big trout from looking for those little round balls of protein. Certain spots have actively spawning salmon. Those spots will give you multiple shots at chunky trout. It only takes a pair of spawners to have a few trout lined up behind.. Expect the coming weeks to be very good. Mornings have been perfect out but the 90 degree days are staring to get old. I'm ready for Fall and cooler weather to get here. I still have this THURSDAY AND SATURDAY open due to a cancelation. If you can swing it, it'd be very worth it. Here's what we've been finding on...

Prime Time – Openings

The Egg drop is slowly but surely starting on the Lower Sac. Kings are slow to get going because of the warmer than average water temperatures. You can expect it to be wide open by the end of the week. Bugs are still catching fish, so are the huevos. I just had a few days open up from cancelations.. As of right now I have this coming Friday open as well as next Wednesday and Thursday. That's it until Thanksgiving time. Jump on it if you want to get in on some bomber trout fishing. Check out some more snapshots here. ...
