Back to Reality

I just got back from a little road trip up to Southwest Montana and back. We celebrated Independence day in the small town of Virginia City and had a hell of a good time hanging out with friends and even getting a little fishin’ in. You can check out more from our photos here. That’s a part of the world that I certainly plan on spending more time in. As much as I love Redding as my home base – SW Montana is pretty darn appealing for a couple months of the summer. A hosted trip in 2018 is already in the works. Stand by for details..

I’m back on the Sac again tomorrow and have a bunch of morning/evening trips in the next few weeks. Fishing was very good prior to my week away – Things should be picking up right where they left off. Caddis are typically the name of the game this time of the year but the little bugs can be very important too during certain times of the day. As many of you know the “top” of the Lower Sac opens back up on August 1. Yes, it will be busy with boats and yes the fishing will be extremely good. I still have August 8-11 open.. Then that’s it until September. I also have July 26-27 open.. I don’t think you want to miss an evening session this summer.
