Fall Update

Fall Update

We’ve had a pretty stellar Fall so far here in Northern California. Some cooler, wet weather has been a nice change of pace. The Egg drop is wide open on the Lower Sac right now. The Klamath has had a good little early push of fish up eating eggs as well. Flows on the Sac are down to 5 grand.. Fish have been chewing on eggs for the past few weeks. Expect some very obese fish to be caught in November and December. I had a client put a freakishly big trout to the net last week on the Sac. 30 inches of Rainbow Trout. Dwayne has been fly fishing for over 40 years all over the world. He caught the biggest trout of his life last week on the Lower Sac. I was pretty lucky to be part of it. Certainly the largest trout i’ve seen come to the net on that river. There’s no doubt there are more of these creatures that lurk in the Sac.

Check out more from the River here..

What a fish. Congrats to you and the guy who caught it. How exciting that must have been! Was it caught on a size 18 fly like you had been doing?
