Lower Sac Fishing Report

The tout fishing on the Lower Sac remains stellar. The pressure is getting lighter on the river and the fish are still grubbin’. We’ve seen big Salmonflies, little Yellow Sallies, Hydropsyche Caddis, and PMDs all coming off throughout the day in pretty good numbers. There have been boat loads of PMDs coming off the past few evenings, with a few fish starting to look up. The average size of fish on the river right now is impressive, especially up in town. There are a ton of quality fish that inhabit this big tailwater. I took a few groups out last week that hadn’t fished the Sac before and they were blown away. The flows are up 7,500 cubes which is just about perfect. Flows between 7k-10k are ideal for spring and summer fishing. Check out some more photos from the river by clicking the link below:
