Lower Sacramento River Report

The Lower Sac has been phenomenal this past week. Heavy hatches of BWOs is driving the fishing most days. Rain or shine it has been really, really good out here. Very few other boats around on most week days too. We have been getting out of the boat a fair amount and wading some of the skinny stuff since the flows have dropped down to 6k cubes. We’ve even had the chance to throw the dry fly in some spots.. The dry fly game this time of year does exist – it can be very technical and requires above average skill though. Looking forward to a few more Winter Salmon showing up and contributing some huevos to the trout’s diet soon. More snaps from the river here.
