Meet The Guides

Anthony Carruesco

Anthony found a passion for fly fishing at a young age. Following that passion to the foothills of gold country and beyond to the vast tundras of Alaska and finally back home to Northern California, where he has turned his passion into a career.  Growing up in competitive sports and being a former collegiate athlete, his drive to persevere and always find his clients fish is apparent on the water.  Whether he is yucking it up on a group trip or on a solo trip, like a ghost on the water, away from the crowds, one thing is for certain, his boat is the one with the bent rods.  A natural leader, Anthony has put together a group of like minded guides with superior work ethics that want nothing more than to see their clients have a great time and be successful on the water.  His confidence and positive demeanor is infectious, and a trip with him is certain to make for some of his clients most memorable vacations.  When he is not guiding you’ll find him chasing the white ball on manicured fairways or chasing anadromous fish on the coastline.

Chris King

Over the past 25 years, Chris has become a living legend in the Fly Fishing world. From and industry rep to guiding and instructing on 3 different continents, Chris’ passion for Fly Fishing has taken him around the world. Chris is a Master Certified casting instructor, two handed (Spey) certified casting instructor and an Emeritus member of the board of governors. Chris has been guiding professionally since 1995 and has established a cult like following of clients. Simply put, Chris is a wizard with a fly rod and has a unique and very effective way of teaching his world class skills to others. All of this accompanied with his witty personality makes a day on the water with him one you will not soon forget.

Darrin Deel

Captain Darrin “Revis” Deel has been guiding professionally in California, Oregon and Idaho for nearly a decade now. Darrins work ethic on the water matched with his unparalleled sense of humor sets him apart from your average guide. Being born and raised in Chico, California, Revis practically grew up on the banks of the Lower Sac, Feather and Yuba rivers. He knows each one of these rivers intimately and has a knack for finding fish for his clients regardless of the circumstances. Revis is well versed in Trout, Steelhead, Striped Bass and Shad fishing. He has a deep love of everything outdoors and as a true sportsman he knows there is a time to catch and release and a time to harvest.  That’s why, when he’s not putting clients on fish in his drift boat, he’s running his 22′ jet sled, putting limits of salmon and stripers in the boat. When not on the water you’ll find him in a duck blind or under an oak tree calling in turkeys.

Matt Formento

Matt sets himself apart from most guides you will meet with his eager approach to each day on the water. Matt has a uniquely positive way of teaching and guiding and is a great fit for both beginner and veteran anglers. Matt has been fishing and guiding the rivers of Northern California since he was 18 and specializes in the Lower Sac, Klamath, Upper Sac, and Pit. He has also spent past summers guiding the wilds of southwest Alaska at Kulik Lodge. Matt is a big time SF Giants and 49er fan, so if you show up for a day of fishing wearing a Dodgers hat or Seahawks shirt, he might make you swap out your apparel if you plan to catch any fish..
