Upper Sacramento River Report
I headed up the hill today to the Upper Sac. The flows are still big from last weeks storms (just under 3,000 cubes) but the river is dropping and clearing everyday. I met up with Craig Nielsen to poke around the upper stretches and look for a few ‘bows. We found some fishable water and were able to put some solid fish in the net. I would give the river a few more days before it is really back in prime shape. The lower river (below Dunsmuir) should be primo by the beginning of next week. Keep an eye on the flows, once they get below 1,500 cubes it should be “go time.” Most of the fish today came on stonefly nymphs and smaller mayflies.
